CampusBound is a mobile application operated by SudoBuiltApps, LLC ("SudoBuiltApps," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the CampusBound iOS app and related services (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The App is available to residents of the United States only and is intended for users age 13 and older.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models.
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
When you invite an Adult Supporter (a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult) or a Counselor, the App shares with them only the information you have explicitly chosen to share through the App's visibility settings. The student is always in control. Students can adjust or revoke access at any time.
We use the following third parties to operate the App. Each is contractually bound to use your data only on our behalf:

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our users or the public.
If SudoBuiltApps is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred to the successor. We will notify you (through the app or email) before any such transfer occurs.
CampusBound offers three optional AI-powered add-ons: Essay Coach, Financial Aid Pack, and Scholarship Match. These are paid separately, off by default, and only activate when you explicitly use them.
When you use an AI feature, here is exactly what happens:
Anthropic's API Terms, which we rely on, state that API content is not used to train their models. You can read Anthropic's policies at anthropic.com/legal.
We log that an AI session occurred (for billing and abuse prevention), but we do not retain the essay content, the prompts, or the full responses beyond what is necessary to show them back to you in the App.
AI-generated content is for guidance only. Always verify scholarship details, deadlines, financial aid recommendations, and essay suggestions with qualified professionals (counselors, financial aid offices, the institution directly).
CampusBound participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for apps to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. When you purchase items through links generated by the Dorm Wishlist feature, CampusBound may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate links are generated by our backend; Amazon does not receive your CampusBound account information. If you click through to Amazon, Amazon's privacy practices govern what happens on their site — see Amazon's Privacy Notice.
You can view all of your data directly in the App. Upon written request to hello@getcampusbound.app, we will provide a machine-readable export of your personal data within 30 days.
You can edit your profile, tasks, awards, colleges, and other content directly in the App at any time.
You can delete your account from the App's Settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for tax, audit, or legal purposes.
You can enable or disable push notifications in your iOS device's Settings. Quiet hours can be configured in-app.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with comprehensive privacy legislation, you may have additional rights — including the right to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information and to appeal decisions about your rights requests. (We do not sell or share personal information in the first place, but you retain the right to confirm this and receive written acknowledgment.) CampusBound is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any information to us.
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has created an account should contact us at hello@getcampusbound.app.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 ("Minor Users") must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By using the App, Minor Users confirm that they have this consent. Adult Supporter accounts linked to a Minor User's account represent that they are the parent, guardian, or other trusted adult of the student.
We take security seriously:
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except:
CampusBound is currently available only to residents of the United States. Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Previous versions of this policy are available by request.
